SIP configuration

In the RealTunnelTM panel you can configure which SIP port you want to use for the RealTunnelTM client by the Options/Preferences/SIP tab (e.g. 5061). If this port is taken, use another port.

1. Windows Messenger 5.1 in SIP Mode. You must enter SIP user id by selecting Tools/Options/Accounts, enter your SIP user id in the 'Sign-in name' field (e.g. tester@realsip.com). Click the 'Advanced' button and select 'Configure settings', set the 'Server name or IP address' to localhost and the RealTunnel SIP port, e.g. 127.0.0.1:5061. Select 'Connect using': 'UDP'. When signing in you will be asked to enter SIP password (the password is the same as the RealTunnel password when using our realsip.com SIP domain) and your SIP 'User name' (e.g. tester, not include the @realsip.com). You may not have to enter password on all SIP servers. It is possible to sign-into .NET, SIP and Exchange at the same time. To avoid confusion you may enable SIP only by selecting 'Tools/Options/Accounts'; clear the 'My contacts include users of .NET Messenger Services'. Enable 'My contacts include users of a SIP Communications Service'. Clear 'My contacts include users of Exchange Instant Messaging'.

2. eConf (in SIP mode). Select Tools/eConf Settings/SIP settings and enter SIP user id in the 'User Name' field, enter password in the 'Password' field (the password is the same as the RealTunnel password when using our realsip.com SIP domain). You may not have to enter password on all SIP servers. Select the 'Use the Registrar' and enter 'Registrar Address'. The Registrar address is realsip.com when using our SIP server. Also make sure the 'SIP Enabled' is selected. You may also check that the 'Dial Domain' is equivalent to the desired SIP domain (e.g. realsip.com) by selecting 'Advanced'.

3. X-Lite 3.0 Select the menu 'SIP Account Settings..', click the 'Add....' buttton, select the 'Account' tab, set 'User Name' e.g. tester, set 'Password' (your SIP password). Set 'Authorization user name' (e.g. tester), set 'Domain' (e.g. realsip.com), set 'Register with domain and receive incoming calls'. Set 'Send outbound via' to proxy, using address localhost and the RealTunnel SIP port, e.g. 127.0.0.1:5061. Select the 'Topology' tab, set 'IP address' to 'Use local IP address'. Set 'Use XTunneles' to 'Never'. (The password is the same as the RealTunnel password when using our realsip.com SIP domain). You may not have to enter password on all SIP servers.

Example:

4. Custom SIP client (i.e. other SIP client)
1. In your SIP endpoint, configure the RealTunnelTM client as a SIP proxy. I.e. configure "outbound proxy" address in the SIP client to the IP address of your local PC and e.g port 5061 (UDP). This port must correspond with the port configured in the RealTunnelTM client explained in the introduction above. If this port is taken by another application, change port number in both applications.

2. Set SIP user id and password.

3. Set SIP server address and domain/realm.
